August 15th, 2015 The topics were obesity, diabetes, gastric bypass surgery and surprising results from that procedure. We discussed those with Lee Michael Kaplan, M.D.,PH.D. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Weight Center at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, which is considered to be one of the leading obesity clinics in the world. Dr. Kaplan is also a leading researcher in gastric bypass surgery and serves as the Director of the Obesity Research Center at Mass General. As you can imagine, he is quite a busy doctor and I'm grateful that he took the time to help us understand more about why 60% of Americans have become fat and sick…and more importantly, what we can do about it.
