September 17th, 2016 - A Nobel Prize was awarded in 1998 for the discovery of the important role of nitric oxide (NO) in human health. Unfortunately, our production of NO declines with age and that has health consequences such as premature aging, inflammation, high blood pressure, clogging of arteries, sexual dysfunction, pain, and low energy. Insufficient NO is also a factor in Alzheimer's disease and Cancer. Nathan Bryan, PhD is in the Dept. of Molecular and Human Genetics Baylor College of Medicine. He will help us understand how to improve our blood levels of NO. We'll also sort out how NO differs from that nitrous oxide that mellows us out at the dentist's office. Up first is one of our favorite regulars, nutritionist/herbalist/educator, Tim Mount. I heard him give a great seminar to health professionals about supporting bones, muscles and other soft tissues such as arteries. I'd like to go over my notes from that conference lecture.

August 27th, 2016 - Our favorite "Health Scout", Bobbi Vitality, is back with a way to improve the way we feel, simplify our lives and save money all at the same time. (And he brings a killer deal.) My second guest, Brian Umbach, of Elite Vitality and Performance, informs us about an exciting FDA-approved technology, that increases blood flow to cells. I'm finding amazing reports of how this improvement in micro-circulation supports cells and optimal organ function. It has even solved some serious health issues such as pain, bone healing and stroke recovery. (It is being tested by NASA.)

August 20th, 2016 - I'm excited to introduce listeners to my new favorite "go-to foods". They were created by Guiltless Superfoods founders - grain-free personal chef Lindsey Crouch and personal trainer Daniel Crouch. (Our favorite health scout, Bobbi Vitality discovered them for me.) Now that I have convenient foods brimming with health benefits which I enjoy, I no longer grab junk out of desperation. I'm not hungry until at least the next meal; cravings are gone; and talk about improved regularity! Who would have thought that gluten-free, grain-free & low-carb pizza, bread, wraps, muffins and cookies could be good for us? We also check in with John Willard of Willard Water about a different take on staying hydrated and about minerals in a humic form.

August 6th, 2016 - Tireless investigator and nutrition genius, Bill Sardi, sends me a great many studies and interesting articles. I'm grateful because that helps me stay current. One news point caught my eye. It was about a substance that may help prevent Alzheimer's. But, up first, it is always fun when Andy Hopkins (producer, sponsor and son) and I get to just chat about healthful things. I believe that learning about the benefits of the various relaxation and detoxification services will inspire listeners anywhere to find them in their own area.

July 23rd, 2016 Barbara Bergin, MD is an orthopedic surgeon from Austin, Texas. (I was delighted to learn that she often listens to Healthy by Nature. That shows how open and forward thinking she is!) Dr. Bergin's blog and website offer a lot of great information about avoiding the need for an orthopedic surgeon! We talked about examples like her advice to not "put your pants on one leg at a time" and an initiative to encourage women to "Sit Like A Man". Then John James, PhD joined us. He might be our first NASA scientist guest and is certainly our first NASA toxicologist. His book is A Sea of Broken Hearts: Patient Rights in a Dangerous, Profit-Driven Health Care System. He also is the founder of Patient Safety America dedicated to reducing medical errors which by the most conservative estimates are in the top 3 causes of premature death.

July 16th, 2016 Dentist Philip Kozlow answered questions about the benefits of adult braces and the safety and effectiveness of tooth whitening products. We noted the health risks to dentists of mercury fillings. (Austin dentist, Griffin Cole has a similar practice.) Later in the show nutritionist/herbalist Tim Mount of NeoCellcovered supplements and herbs for joints--e.g. supporting connective tissue structure, joint hydration and cushioning as well as antioxidants and herbal extracts for pain and inflammation. Link here to the video he mentioned. I also mentioned I came across this recipe.
