I shared something important that I learned about chemical fumes spewing from typical mattresses. Obviously, our bodies already accumulate toxins from polluted air, food and water, but do we need to breathe them for 8 hours a day while we sleep? And what about infants? Is it possible that one reason there are more Sudden Infant Deaths (SIDS) when babies are sleeping face down is that they are being exposed to more concentrated fumes (such as from flame retardants) than they are when they on their backs? Even those of us past childbearing years have friends and relatives who aren't. Please ask them to listen to this archive. We discussed much safer and organic mattresses with Board Certified Environmental Engineer Barry A. Cik, founder of Naturepedic.
Then we switched gears and I took calls. We talked about topics such as balancing zinc with other minerals and red spots on the skin.

July 18th, 2015 Jenny Hrbacek RN, author of Cancer Free! Are You Sure? joined Gus Kotsanis, MD and I in the studio. We talked about the very early detection of cancer, its re-occurrence and complimentary treatments. The discussion of testing was very interesting. The test of circulating cancer cells most typically done by oncologists is not for early detection. Others are. Please forward this link to anyone who has cancer or who did so in the past.

July 11th, 2015 It is the mission of HBN to responsibly examine minority views because in the long run those so often turn out to be a better path than the direction the mainstream is marching lockstep. During our panel discussion about vaccines, we did not spend time on the status quo pro-vaccine side of the debate since that is continually crammed down our throats by the media and the medical establishment. We discussed some of documented concerns with the current vaccine plans; more conservative approaches to regular immunizations and an intriguing homeopathic alternative, homeoprophylaxis. We focused on children, but many of the same principles apply to adults to whom a variety of immunizations are marketed.

I invited Andy Hopkins of HealthWorksMart.com and Deanna Naylor of Young Health to join me in the studio to kick off the holiday weekend with some free-flowing give and take. We started with a question I often hear—how to prioritize supplements when every product we hear about sounds important. In the final segment our engineer/professional musician, Ed Vargas treated us to his rendition of a George Strait song, The Cowboy Rides Away.

June 6th, 2015 In the first mini-segment was a continuation of my series of "good news" reports. My main guest was Dr. Ross Pelton, a PhD pharmacist and Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN). We discussed the critical importance of our body's master antioxidant and detoxifier, glutathione. (Unfortunately, we make less over time and yet we are exposed to ever more toxins.) Dr. Pelton brought news of a very interesting probiotic strain, ME3 that greatly increases glutathione naturally. (It is available in 3 combinations, one for Detox/Liver, Immune/Vitality and Cardiovascular Health.) But, first we connected with Scott C. Tips, on location in Sweden for the 60th anniversary of the National Health Federation. Scott is an attorney and among other roles, he is the President of this noble organization that fights for our health freedoms. He reported briefly on pressures from abroad that may affect our choices in the US.

May 30th, 2015 Nutrition expert and author Bill Sardi joined us for an exciting show. (Archives of his own radio shows.) I asked him to comment on the topic of my blog on nutrient deficiencies and a man's dramatic response to zinc supplementation. He explained that there is a modern day epidemic of zinc deficiency. (Read his article on that.) We also discussed his.observation that heartburn may be a warning sign for heart disease. (His article on that.) He discussed a dangerous overlooked component of cholesterol, lipoprotein(a). It bears repeating that macular degeneration and other problems may be reversible with resveratrol. I'm a huge fan of his creation Longevinex.
